When a much-loved country pub undergoes a major renovation, the signage needs to do more than just label the building—it needs to reflect its soul. That’s exactly what The Fox in St Brides Major asked us to do, and we were all ears
The Challenge: Honour the past, impress the present
The Fox is a beautiful stone-built pub with bags of heritage and a big reputation to match. The new owners were giving the venue a full makeover—refining the food offering, refreshing the interiors, and repositioning the pub as a go-to destination for great seasonal food in a relaxed setting.
Their brief to us? Help them make a bold first impression, while staying sympathetic to the character of the building.
Our Approach: Craftsmanship meets character
Working with the customer’s brand guidelines, we explored options that would complement the pub’s stonework and rural charm.
Material samples played a key role here—our goal was to make sure the client knew exactly what each element would look and feel like before giving us the green light.
Once the look was agreed, we got to work producing signage that feels high-end without
being flashy.
What We Delivered:
Flat Cut Letters
Powder-coated black stainless steel, precision-cut and installed directly onto the stone frontage for a timeless, understated finish.
Hanging Swing Sign
A bespoke illuminated sign, designed to project confidently into the street while keeping things classically styled
Post-Mounted Car Park Signs
Double-sided, powder-coated panels that offer both branding and clear information for arriving guests—day or night.

From first approach to final install, this project was about care, clarity and getting the details right. The signage now blends beautifully with the newly renovated building, standing out just enough to catch the eye—without shouting over the natural charm of the pub itself.
