Built to Last. Branded to Impress.
Engineering a signage setup that’s as solid as their flood defences
When a specialist engineering firm moves into a new industrial headquarters, the signage needs to work as hard as the business itself.
MMEngineering knew that their new base needed more than just basic identification—it needed to command respect and guide complex operations seamlessly.
Setting the Foundation
MMEngineering specialises in flood defence systems and critical infrastructure projects across the UK. When they relocated to their purpose-built industrial facility, they were stepping into a bigger league—taking on larger contracts, expanding their team, and positioning themselves as the go-to experts in their field.
The new site was impressive: a substantial cladded building with ample space for operations, storage, and client meetings. But like any industrial facility, it came with practical challenges around navigation and professional presentation
The Challenge
The brief was straightforward but demanding: create signage that projects serious engineering expertise while solving real operational problems. The building’s scale meant visibility from a distance was crucial, but so was clear wayfinding for the steady flow of suppliers, subcontractors, and clients who needed to find their way around a busy industrial site.
MMEngineering also wanted their brand to feel as robust and reliable as the flood barriers they build—professional, trustworthy, and built to withstand whatever the elements throw at them.

Our Approach
We worked closely with MMEngineering to understand both their brand aspirations and their day-to-day operational needs. Site visits helped us map the visitor journey and identify key decision points where clear signage would make the biggest difference.
For the main building identification, we knew we needed to go big. An 8-metre-wide halo-lit sign became the centrepiece—powder-coated stainless steel letters in full brand colours, mounted on dual rails for maximum impact and durability.

The Result
MMEngineering now has a facility that looks every bit as professional as their engineering expertise. The main sign acts as a landmark that’s visible from a considerable distance, while the comprehensive wayfinding system has streamlined site operations and eliminated confusion for visitors.
Most importantly, the signage reinforces their brand positioning as a serious, established engineering firm—one that sweats the details and builds things to last.
A project that proves industrial signage can be both highly functional and genuinely impressive when the brief is clear and the execution is precise.
